Strava Continues to Evolve Strength Experience with New Coach-Designed Strength Series via Native Recording
New guided workouts bring live set-and-rep tracking, automatic Workout Log sync, and muscle-group intensity visualization to the platform
SAN FRANCISCO – October 15, 2026 – Strava, the app for active people with more than 200 million users in more than 185 countries, today introduced coach-designed strength workouts, giving athletes guided, animated instruction and live set-and-rep tracking that syncs instantly to their Workout Log.
Rolling out to subscribers over the next few weeks, with a sample workout available to free users, the new experience walks athletes through workouts developed by experienced strength coaches with guided animations, and lets them track sets and reps live as they go. Clicking into each exercise also provides guidance on the correct form, tips and the exact muscles targeted. When a workout ends, every exercise, set, and rep is saved directly to the athlete's activity, and their muscle map updates to show where the effort went.
Strength has become one of the fastest-growing activity types on Strava, as more athletes look to track resistance training with the same rigor they bring to endurance sports. The workout series is designed to remove the biggest barrier to getting started - not knowing what to do - while also providing detailed data about the work they have put in. This update also includes new running workouts, further expanding the library of guided options.
Looking ahead, users can expect a number of additional workout series to come before the end of the year. Strava will also introduce additional ways to track strength workouts, including the ability to screenshot text-based sets and reps from a training plan or notes app for instant upload, as well as a build-your-own workout feature. Strava continues to launch new partner integrations so that strength data can flow in automatically from wherever athletes already train.
