Strava Updates Features to Help Users Easily Plan and Share their Activities

SAN FRANCISCO – April 3, 2025 – Strava, the app for active people, today announced a series of product updates designed to enhance how users plan and share their activities. The latest enhancements span key areas of the Strava experience, bringing more personalization, visualization, and connectivity to its global community.

The latest updates include:

  • A Proprietary Map Rendering Engine (MRE): Strava has integrated key elements of FATMAP’s advanced mapping technology to further enhance the user experience. The MRE brings a new level of detail to Strava’s map and routing experiences, with realistic 3D terrain and informative terrain layers. It lays the groundwork for innovative, proprietary map features, including upcoming Winter Satellite imagery.

  • Saved Routes Filtering and Search: Finding your favorite routes just got easier. Strava users can now search their Saved Routes by keyword or filter by sport type, distance, elevation, route owner, or surface type. This update is available to subscribers and simplifies route planning like never before.

  • A Redesigned Activity Details Page: A redesigned Activity Details page now offers an immersive, full-screen layout that showcases your route, photos, and videos in a more immersive way. Users can now easily view their best efforts and segment achievements, all mapped along their route.

  • Strava Stickers: Strava users can now export Stat Stickers of their activities directly to Instagram Stories, or download them for use on other platforms.
